  • Fresh Meat Care Instructions

    Our meats are all-natural—free of added coloring, hormones, and preservatives—so proper handling and storage are essential to ensure the best flavor and safety. Please follow these guidelines:

    Storage

    • Keep meat refrigerated at 34–38°F.

    • If you do not plan to cook within 2–3 days, freeze immediately.

    • For freezing, place the butcher paper–wrapped package inside a freezer bag or airtight container to maintain quality and prevent freezer burn.

    Refrigerated Shelf Life (Unfrozen)

    • Ground meats & sausage: 1–2 days

    • Poultry: 1–2 days

    • Steaks, roasts, chops: 3–4 days

    • Fresh fish: 1 day

    Freezer Storage (Properly Wrapped)

    • Ground meats & sausage: 3–4 months

    • Steaks, roasts, chops: 6–12 months

    • Poultry: 9–12 months

    • Fresh fish: 2–3 months

    Thawing

    • Always thaw meat in the refrigerator or under cold running water.

    • Avoid thawing at room temperature to reduce the risk of bacteria growth.

    Cooking

    • Cook meat to safe internal temperatures:

      • Ground beef/pork: 160°F

      • Poultry: 165°F

      • Steaks, roasts, chops: 145°F (with 3-minute rest)

    • For best flavor, allow meat to rest a few minutes before slicing.

    Additional Tips

    • Keep raw meat separate from ready-to-eat foods.

    • Wash hands, surfaces, and utensils after handling raw meat.

    • Because our meats are all-natural, you may notice a shorter shelf life compared to grocery store meats with preservatives—this is normal and ensures you are enjoying a pure, premium product.
